Biography - Joey Lounsbury

Joey is the lead photographer of J Lounsbury Photography. He received his first DSLR camera for a Christmas present in 2007. Since that time, he has attended several photography classes throughout New England. In addition to classroom study, thirteen year old Joey hones his skills by shooting thousands of pictures, adhering to the motto "practice makes perfect".

In addition to his love of photography, Joey is an avid birder. He has read many books and constantly researches on the internet. At his young age, Joey has an amazing wealth of knowledge about birds throughout the world.

Awards

Joey received his first photography award in 2009. The Great Backyard Bird Count is a cooperative effort sponsored by The Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Audubon. This project was formed to confirm population numbers of birds throughout the World. As birders count, they are encouraged to capture photographs to be entered into the annual photo contest. Joey was selected from over 6000 entries, and received an honorable mention for the group category. His award winning photo is a favorite of all that have seen it, and continues to be a popular selling print.
